• Krafting Kindness Workshop:

A Give and Get Fundraising Event

Our paper crafting workshop turned out to be a blast!  The event was kept intentionally small, and of the 12 who reserved and/or paid in advance, there were only 7 of us in attendance (which was a good thing because the tables we worked on got really small, really fast when supplies got spread out and individual projects got underway. Regrettably, I didn't think to take a group photo, or capture everyone working before a few of the participants had to leave).

What was really cool was the handmade paper stash that Celeste, one of the many wonderful women in the group shared with the rest of us to use in our crafting.  Her paper was absolutely beautiful, and it made the custom greeting cards Adele made of NYC buildings especially awesome and unique.   We had such a good time that before we knew it, the event ran over the 3 hours we anticipated and most of our participants didn't start to head home until nine o'clock!  Before 2017 comes to its close, cards with inspirational messages will be delivered to a program giving shelter in a NYC safe house to survivors of domestic violence.

All Inclusive Workshop:

Everything needed for making paper gifts and cards is provided (plus refreshments!)

Here's the details:

We are truly grateful for your kindness in helping us to fund-raise by way of admission.

You’re going to meet the awesome women in The MANY, relax, laugh and have a ton of fun crafting pretty things for a good cause.

Artist and paper-crafter, Benita Rivera will demonstrate the easy techniques of die cutting, stamping, raised lettering and embossing on card stock to make exquisite gift boxes, hanging ornaments and beautiful greeting and holiday cards.

This workshop is our way of raising much needed funds to keep The MANY going! We wanted to give something meaningful back to our supporters, and wanted together purposefully during this season to share some kindness too.  That said, we are encouraging participants to create one extra card in support of a woman victimized by domestic abuse.*

If paying at the door, you MUST RSVP & RESERVE your seat!

LOCATION:

Community Room at 10 Clinton Street (corner of Tillary Street & Cadman Plaza) in Brooklyn Heights

VERY IMPORTANT!!: Please RSVP and consider bringing a girlfriend!  Seating is limited, so hurry and let us know you'll be there by emailing: info@wearethemany.org and reserve your spot.

Workshop is payable either in advance (red button above), or at the door as long as you have RSVP'd.

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  (We may run over to 7 o’clock if we’re having too much fun to stop!)
